GOUACHE FAIL / ガッシュ失敗

I was trying to do a gouache painting of this Camelops sp. and everything seemed to be going well; I actually quite liked the base drawing.

Intentaba pintar con gouache esta pieza de un Camelops sp. y todo parecía ir bien, el dibujo inicial me gustó bastante.

この Camelops sp. のグワッシュ画を描こうとしていて、最初は順調でした。下描きもかなり気に入っていたんです。

Then I started adding color and thought, “No problem, it’s gouache — I can always paint over whatever mess I make,” right?

Entonces comencé a poner color. “No hay problema… El buen gouache ¡nada le gana! Puedo corregir despues el desastre que estoy haciendo” ¿Verdad?

それから色をつけ始めて、”大丈夫、グワッシュだから、失敗しても上から塗り直せるし” じですよね？

WRONG, I ended up making it worse. I tried saving some details with pencil over the paint, but it was no use, and my time at the museum was up.

ERROR, lo eché a perder todo y traté de rescatar algunos detalles con lápiz sobre la pintura, pero ya no había nada que hacer y se me había acabado el tiempo en el museo.

間違いでした。 もっとひどくなってしまって、鉛筆で細部を修正しようとしたんですが、どうにもなりませんでした。そして、博物館での作業時間も終わってしまいました。

Luckily, I had taken a decent photo of the initial drawing, so I used it to create a digital watercolor version. In the end I was happy with how all this turned out. I even made a silly video about it: VIDEO

Afortunadamente tomé una buena foto del dibujo inicial y lo usé para hacer una version (digital) en “acuarela”. Al final quedé contento con el resultado e hice un videito sonso: VIDEO

でも、ラッキーなことに下描きの写真をちゃんと撮ってあったので、それをもとにデジタルの水彩風バージョンを制作しました。

結果的には、それなりに満足できる仕上がりになりました。私はそれについて面白いビデオも作りました : VIDEO
